Labor Day Treat - Pretzel Sparklers

To me, Labor Day always signals the end of summer and begins the transition to fall. If you're looking for a simple, festive, and fun treat to serve at your Labor Day barbecue, picnic, or backyard bash, these Pretzel Sparklers will do just the trick! Not only are they easy to make, but they’re also kid-friendly, totally Instagrammable, and deliciously addicting.

What are Pretzel Sparklers? Well they’re inspired by fireworks and Fourth of July sparklers, these treats are made with long pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate, then decorated with red, white, and blue sprinkles and icing to create a firework-like “sparkle” effect. Think of them as edible sparklers—minus the danger, plus all the fun!

Ingredients you’ll need: pretzel rods (the long, sturdy kind), white chocolate melting wafers or almond bark, red, white, and blue sprinkles or sanding sugar or icing, Optional: star-shaped sprinkles or edible glitter, parchment paper or a cooling rack for drying.

Step 1: Melt the chocolate: Use a microwave-safe bowl to melt your white chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.

Step 2: Dip the pretzel rod about halfway into the melted chocolate. Gently tap off the excess.

Step 3: Add the sparkle: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your red, white, and blue decorations generously. You can roll them or just hold them over a plate and sprinkle to your heart’s content.

Step 5: Let them set: Place the decorated pretzels on parchment paper or a cooling rack. Let them sit at room temperature until the chocolate hardens (or pop them in the fridge for 10–15 minutes if you're in a hurry).
