Let’s Make A Thrifted Easter Basket
Every spring, as the world begins to bloom again, one fluffy figure hops into the hearts of children everywhere. Of course, I’m talking about the Easter bunny! For in spring the Easter bunny NEVER sleeps! Did you get an Easter basket when you were growing up? Have you made them for your children before? This year, we went to Goodwill to see if we could create a thrifted Easter basket on a budget.
Let’s head in to see what we can find!
I went straight to the basket section first! Goodwill (or almost any thrift store) always has a large selection of baskets!!!
Look how affordable these baskets are! Small, medium, and large - Goodwill had some of each size to fit any need.
JACKPOT!!!! There were so many perfect Easter baskets waiting for me! I picked out the round purple and pink one. Now…what will we fill it with?
Every good Easter basket needs a plush! Goodwill normally has a bin overflowing with stuffed animals. I headed there to see if I could find one to fit the bill. Whoever you’re making a basket for, Goodwill is sure to have a plush to match their interest! The plushies prices range from $0.49-$1.49.
I checked out the toy section and there were endless options to add to a basket! Dolls, puzzles, bubbles, and small games were some great items I saw. This football is the perfect addition to the basket for any sports loving lad.
Clothing items may not excited some children, but with summer coming, a new swimsuit is a very practical basket filler. What I love about Goodwill is that you can find so many items brand new with tags! Look at this swimsuit SCORE I found to add to the basket.
Perfectly sweet and summery, this suit makes a lovely addition. For only $2.79 for each piece, it’s a no brainer.
So far we’ve added a plush, a toy, and a swimsuit. What else could we thrift to complete the ideal Easter surprise?
A book, of course! Rows and rows of books lined the exterior wall of this Goodwill. Choose one that fits your recipients age and interests and add it to the basket! Most children’s books are priced at $0.99!
It’s finished! A 100% thrifted Easter basket. All that’s missing are some candies or treats. Where else can you get a basket this complete and customizable for around $10? This year, try to thrift someone an Easter basket. You may be surprised at all the wonderful items you find.
From all of us at Pure and Simple, we wish you and your family a special Easter season.
