Why Crosslisting is a Must When Reselling Online

I was an eBay reseller for many many years until I decided to try Etsy.

I ran two stores but it never crossed my mind to list the same items on both platforms.

At that time (around 2010), my Etsy success was minimal so I closed down the shop and liquidated the inventory. I decided eBay worked just fine for me.

That is until I had a lengthy conversation with an estate sale customer about Etsy. She shared that her Etsy store thrives with over 600 active listings.

Thrives, huh?

We talked through the details of the platform then she went on her merry way.

I came straight home and opened another Etsy store; this time with a vision to make sure it would thrive.

Around the same time, I decided to open a Poshmark store so I could understand the inโ€™s and outโ€™s of the platform since I was coaching an organizing client on the reselling process.

It still never occurred to me to crosslist (list the same item on multiple platforms).

I decided to test it out with a few random items.

A coffee mug on Poshmark.

Vintage clothes on Etsy.

By golly it worked! Since our exposure had increased, I started to sell our inventory quicker! Those who shopped on Poshmark didnโ€™t necessarily shop on Etsy.

Crosslisting online is an absolute must. We still do it the old fashioned way, but you may want to research Vendoo.

Have you taken the leap of crossposting?
