Reselling Spotlight: Selling on Poshmark

A few years ago I found myself having a conversation with an organizing client regarding avenues to resell her clothes. We discussed FB Marketplace Groups and eBay. At the time I was only familiar with eBay.

She mentioned Poshmark and asked if I could help her navigate the platform. I signed up for an account so I could learn how to post and how to process orders and the rest is history.

The 3 Ps of Online Reselling

IMO Poshmark is the easiest platform to use when reselling.

The platforms that we focus on are:

It is free to list on Poshmark

First, it is free to list on Poshmark. I greatly appreciate this as Etsy charges and eBay sometimes does.

It is easy to create a listing

Second, it is extremely easy to build a listing on Poshmark. Their listing page is extremely easy to navigate. One of the easiest ones IMO!

Poshmark isnโ€™t just for clothes

Weโ€™ve had GREAT success with selling items other than clothes/shoes/accessories on Poshmark.

In fact, all listings go on eBay & Poshmark. Then we consider Etsy and Chairish based on the age of the item.

Shipping is so easy

Once an item sells, then Poshmark will email you a shipping label. As long as the package is under 5 lbs (which most are), then you are good to go. Just pack, attach label, and mail! No need for scales and measuring tapes!

Poshmarkโ€™s Commission is Competitive

Most platforms charge 20% commission on average. Poshmark makes it very easy to navigate and track items once they are sold.

Etsy & eBay are the worst at nickeling and diming sellers.

Be Sure To Transfer Your Money

Poshmark acts like a holding bank for your funds, so donโ€™t forget to transfer your money! I do this monthly.
